HALO™ Treatment Highlights

Long term sun exposure, active lifestyle and the wear and tear of everyday living results in visible signs of skin aging, including wrinkles, discoloration, scars and laxity. A fractional treatment, whether ablative or coagulative, allows the epidermis to heal quickly as long as the dermis remains intact.

Ablative fractional resurfacing is a well-established treatment that vaporizes aged tissue with less thermal injury, with mild to moderate levels of morbidity and downtime. Conversely, non-ablative fractional resurfacing causes thermal injury and tissue coagulation with lower levels of morbidity.

The HALO hybrid fractional laser combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths delivered to the same microscopic treatment zone to maximize clinical results and minimize downtimes. HALO is safe and effective, while providing an enhanced patient experience.

HALO™ Patient Benefits

  1. More comfortable than traditional fractional resurfacing

  2. Faster healing than traditional Ablative lasers.

  3. Low downtime, patients are able to go back to work within a couple of days

  4. No occlusive post-care

  5. Noticeable improvement within weeks seen with a single treatment

Other FAQs

HALO combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to address multiple levels of skin concerns on all skin types in 1-2 treatments.

Ablative wavelengths target and treat the skin for surface-level conditions such as textural issues and pore size. The non-ablative wavelength targets deeper sun damage and other dermal pigmentary issues.

Additionally, HALO can be used to help with scars such as acne and even stretch marks.

All areas of your body can be treated with HALO. The most common areas are the face, neck, and chest. The hands, stomach, arms, legs, shoulders, and legs can also be treated.

A topical numbing cream will be applied for 30-45 minutes. The skin is then prepped for the halo with cleaning agents. The skin is then measured and a setting specific for your concerns will be chosen. Patients will experience a burning sensation immediately post treatment like a sunburn that will last 4-6 hours post treatment.

Changes are seen with one treatment. Depending on your specific concerns, more treatments may be recommended. If you have acne or stretch marks, a series of 3-4 treatments may be necessary for optimal results.

Typically, a week of downtime is needed and should be planned. Generally, the face will experience a burning sensation like a sunburn. Subsequent days you will experience redness and swelling. Additionally, MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris) which are microscopic wounds from the laser treatment start day 3 and continue until day 6.

The skin will feel dry and itchy for 3-5 days post laser treatment.

Avoid going into direct sunlight for 2 weeks before and after a HALO procedure.  An effective sunscreen along with a Vitamin C topical will be recommended by your provider in additional to a post-procedure kit.

The cost of a HALO is impacted by the patient’s choice in area of treatment. Additionally, the number of treatments needed will affect the overall price.
